    Hi,
I have a Servis s900 wd that is getting stuck at the beginning of program C.

It fills up and just keeeps in the wash cycle. If you give it a nudge round then you can hear the ticking sound from the timeclock/programmer and then it completes.

It also does in on program 4 as I’m led to believe.

I’m getting the horrible feeling that I’ll have to change the timer….

Would any of you knowledgable fellows have any other ideas or advice on how I can test the suspect item.

Naturally I have plenty of test gear and can perform this safely.

    many thx for your help….

ahhh – heater failure – thx Dave – I’ll check for that tomorrow.

Is it correct to assume that the programme won’t advance if the water is not at the correct temperature?
    thx.

Excellent – now I’m learning something.

I’ll test tomorrow and report my findings. Thx for your prompt attention.

Re: Servis S 900 wd misbehaviour

Exellent news Dave, It was indeed the heater. 230v going in but 0 ohms resistance across the heater element disconnected.

Your advice was spot on – I had convinced myself it was a new timer – £129 + how gutted would I have been?

We have been suffering recently with tiny rust dots on some of our clothing after washing and it appears the element along with scaling has evidence of rust on it – seems like I have killed two birds with one stone! is this rust spotting common?

I’m off to source a new element now. I’m like a dog with 2 ding dongs.

    many thx.

Yup, like for like. Manufacturers do update and supercede components quite regularly.

    Hi AT,
Rust spots could be due to the bearing seal starting to fail. ie rusty water from the bearings in with the wash. Is the machine getting noisy on spin?
