I have just been charged £89.23p for a ‘Call Out’ to find the banging on my 3 year Hoover Washing machine.
The fault was a loose concrete balance weight on the Front Lower section of the drum.
This can be located by tilting the front of the machine and locate the three screws with a socket wrench.
The entire repair took three minutes.
Hoover refuse to refund me any charges even after I told them that I am disabled and unable to work.
It anoys me when this charge is not told to customers when viewing new machines. 😥

    Hiya,

Sadly there’s no indication of repair costs, spares stock, longevity or pretty much performance before you buy many machines other than the brand expectation that you personally have.

    Hoover are owned by Candy.

Hotpoint charge similar and are owned by Indesit.

You can find more about them in the manufacturer section (choose Advice & Help from the navigation menu) as well as others.

But it is good to hear what they charge. An independent would have cost you between £30 and £50 normally to do the same job, the large part of those costs just down to the actual cost to the business to get to you fully insured etc.

Not much comfort I know, but you’re not alone.

    K.

    Thank you once again.
    Dave.

You knew the cost before you sent for them
If it had been the tub you’d be happy
It wasn’t but it still works so don’t complain
And I won’t mention my last post that was deleted
