ParticipantDishwasher cycle often gets stuck when less than 10 mins from end of program (1 minute from end seems to be the most common sticking point). When this happens dishes are usually still dirty and washer is in perpetual rinse mode. Bizarely the problems seems to occur with all programs except the intensive 70 degree cycle (the hottest) which seems to run ok.
Not sure if its connected but problem appeared to get much worse the other day when we noticed a bad smell in the undersink cupboard which houses the dishwasher plug/socket. Couldn’t figure it out at first but soon realised that the plug was in meltdown, and had turned brown/black on the fuse/live side. Switched everything off and when cooled down managed to prise away melted plug from scorched socket. Can’t understand why plug fuse didn’t blow or RCD/breaker didn’t trip.
Prior to this happening had tried cleaning filters/arms etc within the dishwasher – no obvious signs of any blockages.
Would greatly appreciate any advice you may have.November 6, 2006 at 4:59 pm #194462Martin

The chances are that the fault was the plugtop and wall socket all along? My advice would be to replace BOTH items first, then try the machine again! 😉

Try This
Turn Water and Electric off
Take side panel off and clean hose from pump and any other dirty bits you see. If its like mine all the bits just seem to push togetherGood Luck

Many thanks – will give it a try. I’m assuming you mean left-hand side panel? Haven’t explored machine much beyond removing filters, spray arms etc – but intend to do so now I have the purchased the necessary Torx drivers.
