ParticipantHi,
I have an Indesit D62 dishwasher. Its about 5 years old.
The other night it had almost finished its cycle when all of a sudden it tripped out the main RCD at the fuse board.
I turned everything back on and now the dishwasher just constantly makes a noise as though its trying to start. The noise is similar to when it tries to pull in water at the start of a cycle. No matter what program i put the dial on the dishwasher stays in this state.
Are there anything checks i can perform?
I am by no means an expert on dishwashers so some advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

Hi
It sounds like the old classic base full of water mentioned numerous times on here.
Unplug appliance before attempting to remove water and find leak.Greg

Hi,
Thanks for your help.
Can you gain access easily to the base of the dishwasher. I had a look last night and didn’t see an obvious way of getting access to it.
Cheers

hi again.
The best question to ask is can this be done by myself or will i need to get an expert in to look at it – if not where can i find details for accessing the base of the machine?
Do these faults generally require the owner to scrap the dishwasher and buy a new one?
Thanks again.

Could you double check that model number, D62 not found on manufacturers list. D61 & D63 but no D62.
If you tilt the machine to one side or backwards and water runs out from underneath then you do have a leak or an overflow problem. Most Indesit bases are held on by six screws along front and back edges, remove plug before tilting or removing base.

Yes its a D62. Just checked again.
It was purchased in holland so may not appear on the uk indesit site.
Will try and have a look in the base over the weekend.
Would this have caused the RCD to trip out on the fuseboard though?
Thanks

Very likely, although the heating element often fails causing same problem. A check with the correct electrical test equipment is the only way to be certain.
