ParticipantI have one of the above and it is not heating. We bought the original machine 13 months ago and it worked ok for about the first 2 month, it then stopped heating. We got the comet man out to it and he condemmed it and we got a replacement. The job card left for us notes that it is “heating interrmitantly” and that there were no heaters in stock. This has been fine up to this week when it stopped working again. It is showing the following fault lights:
The”on/off” button is flashing very quickly
The “Time Delay” button is flashing slowly
The “High Heat” button is flashing slowly
What do they mean?
We have got the comet man coming tomorrow on a foc inspection. What I am asking of the forum is if anyone is aware of any manufacturing issues specific to this fault on these machines. This will obviously help claim against any repair that will be needed. I am also aware that there is free parts for Hotpoint equipment for the first 5 yrs. Do these parts have to be fitted by an approved Engineer or will they just supply the parts?
I have tried powering the machine down to see if that would re-set anything and also cleaned the condensor and the filter inside the machine as well as emptied the water tray. All this made no difference.
Quite alot on this post but your help is greatfully receivedMany thanks

That’s good then, tell him you believe the ‘Thermistor Kit’ has gone (cost about £22 by the way). 😉
Likely as not the reason for the failure is due to someone turning the dryer off before it has completed its cycle. The last 10 mins of it being ‘cool-down’ and if you don’t let it cool down the Thermistor Kit gives out!! 😕

Hi
We have the same type of problem, no heat.
The on/off flashes after a couple of mins, but with the ” Time Delay Light ” only. While cold the thermistor reads 640 kohms.
Is this a different problem?
Are the fault lights not documented somewhere?

ptCan you give us the flashing option neon by number from top down.
NTC should be around 500kΩ at room ( 20°) temperature.
