had to share this with you all, I went to a job today and the guy was complaining that his washer wasn’t spinning properly and sometimes he couldn’t open the door, so I pulled the washer out and saw

So I told him that he may have had a bit of a bottleneck on the drain pipe, so I went outside into the yard and found this

So I took off the hose connector and told him that he may will need to get it sorted…he said that it has been like this for nearly a year and will get round to it, so just charged him the callout and left.

This reminds me of a job t’other month, m/c in garage not spinning very well, brushes burn’t out , but was still draining slowly, pump/filter clean but outlet hose was taped to a length of 20mm overflow pipe , when I traced it’s epic path [about 4 m] it emptied out into the neighbours garden!!! I asked who had plumbed it in ”oh a guy who works with my hubby used to be a plumber” , now her hubby is a prison officer, so I wonder what matey boy’s past plumbing work was like?

    Re: major plumbing problem

Went to one about a month ago as well.. m/c was sticking on the program.. Shiny new kitchen.. tried m/c was filling and empting at same time.. decided m/c was syphoning but as it looked a right pain to get out so went outside to inspect plumbing out there and found plumbers had drilled a hole at floor hight though the ouside wall pulled outlet hose all the way through and straight into drain.. Asked cust who put the kitchen in.. Oh.. a friend of a friend who came highly recomended!

Told her to get them back to plumb waste properly and explained what required and charged her a call out..

A week later got the call again.. still sticking on program but not all,, back again.. found plumber had plumbed in waste to sink ok this time but had only turned cold water on to m/c.. so turned hot water and bingo.. all was well.. another call out charge and another black eye for the so called plumber..

Don’t know how this bloke could have come highley recomended but don’t think this customer will be recomending them..

By the way why do plumbers always insist on putting the w/m taps in the most inaccessible places?… 👿

Also why carn’t we get fill pipes with angled fittings at both ends for when a so called plumber puts the taps tight against a wall & base unit?
    Chris..
