Hi all, Ive got a Hotpoint CTD00 condenser tumble dryer which stopped heating. After quickly removing the rear heater panel I tested the thermostats and one had gone open circuit.
The hotpoint site states that they are “cyclic” stats, does anyone know what the difference is between a standard stat kit and these ones?
BTW they are the white spot type.
    Cheers
    Steve

One thermostat is the “cycling” one, to control the temperature. The second one is a one-shot safety device if the temperature is exceeded for any reason.

You need kit 1703200, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving for you.

    Power off when swapping,

On your machine, the open circuit one is the safety……….

    This is worth a read:

The 1703200 kit contains both stats, BTW.
