ParticipantHi all, we have an MW051-U that won’t fill on a cold wash and gives a diagnostic code of 00100111 which the tech support at f&p said was a pressure sensor fault. If so, is there any way we can fix this ourselves or is it something that needs to have a tech look at. I reckon i oculd fix it if I only knew what part we might need to replace.
TIA

You may not need a part at all. The machine has failed to detect a rise in the ater level in the time allowed – there are several possible causes.
You need to check firstly that the air hose leading to the level switch is not trapped, kinked, blocked or holed. If you disconnect the air hose, it is essential that you fully drain the machine before you reconnect the hose. The pressure chamber itself may be blocked. Otherwise, the pressure switch itself may be faulty. It is an integral part of the motor controller, and is not available as a separate component. Recon boards are available.

Thanks Penguin…I thought it best to check whether it could be fixed before having to call in the (expensive) techies. The thing is that no water comes out of the cold water inlet at all. I’ve checked as far in as I can-water is coming through the inlet pipe that is attached to the tap but doesn’t seem to get past where it connects.
Do the manuals normally have diagrams of the inside of the machine?November 13, 2006 at 1:37 am #195125Penguin45

Do the basics first – do you get a reading of c.15 ohms across the cold valve solenoid when it’s split from the circuit?

I’ll have to borrow a multimeter from someone before I can find that out! I’m not a sparkie by any stretch….
I’ll let you know how I go. Dodgy solenoid? Reminds me of an advert…November 14, 2006 at 9:09 am #195127silvercody

hi,just a thought does it fill up if u select hot water and also does it stop at low level if u select low level with hot water..if so id say its your cold water valve.
