ParticipantWent to use the above only to find it was completely dead. Checked fuse in mains plug and found it had blown, so replaced it.
Now clicks once, when locking door, but then clicks another couple of times as if it isn’t managing, then comes up with E40 error. I have seen posts indicating this is typically the door mechanism, but also can be other pcb’s.
Anyone got any advice? Am happy to dismantle and replace bits myself, though a service manual and part numbers would be nice.
TIA

Door lock is here:
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … cts_id=618If it doesn’t do the trick, I would seriously recommend pro help – these amchines are notoriously difficult to diagnose properly.
Power off, if investigating.

Thanks for the link to the part. Ordered it at the start of the week and it arrived in a day or so. 😀
Fitted it this morning, worked a treat. Took me a little while to work out how to get to it in order to replace it. Ended up loosening the door seal and pulling it through the gap to release the plugs, blimmin tightly fitted they were too. Was a little fiddly but nothing overly complicated. Was quite confident it was the problem when I could see a slight scorch mark on the outside of the old latch assembly, confirmed when I opened it up and it was clear something had blown inside, which settled my mind as to why my original problem had been a blown fuse in the appliance plug.
So thanks to peeps on this forum for the pointers to a) the problem and b) the replacement part, much appreciated. :salute:

I think my old machine has the same problem. Is it difficult to replace?
I can get the lid off the top but I’m not sure how to get the external casing off the machine.

I’ve just seen a video on how to do it with an AEG machine, it can’t be a million miles away so I’m gunna give it a try.
