ParticipantHi
I have a Diplomat Softline ADP0530 oven installed.
Recently when I switch it on, the cooker starts up and starts heating up. Sometimes though, after about ten minutes it cuts out. It also clears off the timer so nothing is displayed (as though the power has been turned off) After a few minutes it comes back on again with the clock flashing. Does anyone have any idea what it might be.
The only thing that i have noticed id that I think there used to be the sound of a fan towards the back of the cooker and sometimes it doesn’t sound like it’s whirring (if you get what I mean) could it be that it has a safety switch that cuts out if this isn’t working etc???

Safety thermostat is shutting down the oven due to overheating in the casing. This will certainly happen if the cooling fan does not run. IIRC, it has its own thermostat to start and stop with, so if that has failed, the safety stat will be forced to operate. The cooling fan itself may have failed.
HTH, power off while investigating.

Penguin45.Thanks for this Penguin45, strange thing is I’ve just used the cooker tonight and it worked ok with the fan starting up. Sometimes it sounds like it’s struggling to get going.
Would this be something that any qualified person could fix. We’ve phoned their help desk and they are charging £75.00 call out before looking at it. (sods law that it’s just gone out of warranty). In your opinion would this be classed as a manufacturing fault. The cooker is just over a year old?
Many thanks for all your help with this.
