ParticipantMy wife went to run a program the other night and when she started it she realised it was the wrong one. Instead of stopping it and restarting she just turned the dial to the one she wanted. After she done that the machine went crazy and lights started flashing and the machine no longer will run a program. After doing what hotpoint advised which was return the dial to the original program this still doesn’t work. I have also tried the usual of turning off at the mains and leaving it a while. But when I turn it back on I still get flashing lights. The lights that flash are the on/off light, the hight heat light and reduce creases light. Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong? Thanks for any help offered.

Hi. I need a little more information but the flashing lights are a fault code.
Can you tell me the location of your flashing lights? Are they four in a horizontal row or five in a vertical row?CheersNovember 15, 2006 at 10:10 pm #195498indespoint

Its a communication fault between the power board and display board. If you’re goung to investigate power off and unplug machine.

Drying High Heat = Flashing (slow pulsing flash)
Reduce Creases
Rinse Hold
Time Saver = Flashing (slow pulsing flash)
Extra RinseThen I have 2 horizontal lights on the right hand side of the machine which are (in left to right order):
Start/Cancel
On/Off = Flashing (rapid flash)Thanks for everyones help so far.

Sorry to say that fault is a SETUP ERROR on the eeprom contained on the module. They can only be reprogrammed by the manufactures service team or you can replace the board and eeprom together.
