ParticipantHi
I have a Bosch SGS5312GB/12 dishwasher and despite using it almost every couple of days the plastic always goes mouldy. I clean it regularly by taking it all apart (including all of the plastic parts) and wipe it round with a cloth but the mould comes back quickly.
I have tried to use 3 different makes of the cleaning solution that you put upside down in the cutlery holder but each time I use one the wax seal never breaks and the fluid is still in the bottle after the full cyle has completed. I have tried this at different temps too (65 intensive, 65 normal and 55 degrees). This leads me to believe that the water is not heating up enough to melt the wax seal.
The dishwasher is connected to my hot water supply and is washing the dishes ok. The cutlery sometimes has white spots on it though.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the fault. I am thinking that it may be the heating element or thermostat (if it has one) but have no idea how to pinpoint this or even how to access them to have a look and/or replace the faulty part.
Any advice would be greatly apprieciated.

Couple of possibilities. The basic problem is insufficient heat. This can be caused by under-filling. There is a pipe in the front left corner which sludges up and prevents the machine filling correctly. The other common problem is a dry/burnt out joint on the computer board – usually fiable if you can weild a soldering iron.
By the way, hot water is always dirty water – this is not helping. Get it replumbed to cold when you can.
Stay safe if investigating, power off.

Penguin45.Many thanks – I’ll have another look around and see if there are any further blockages. We plumbed it to the hot to save the amount of electricity needed to heat the water but it is also connected to the cold. I’ll unplumb the hot and see if that makes a difference too.
Cheers
