i wonder if anyone can help.
My margherita 2000 seems to have some kind of personality malfunction.
Each cycle runs fine until it has to drain, it doesn’t seem to be able to empty the water and the dial just clicks round (which apparently means it is reporting an anomaly).
I have checked the drainage pipe and can get the water to drain by unscrewing the pipe and lowering it so i don’t think that is blocked and stopping it draining.
I’m thinking maybe its the pump that sucks the water out (does it even have one!?) which might mean its worth getting a new machine. Could it be something more simple like a seal?
I really hope so! thanks in advanceNovember 16, 2006 at 12:11 am #195611iadom

Can you post the full model number, not the name ? In the mean time, dig out your instruction book, you know the one that you stuffed in the drawer the day you got the machine and have not seen since. 😉 If you do find it have a look at the instructions for checking/cleaning the pump filter.
Until we know your exact model number we will not be able to tell if your machine has a user accessible filter or not.
NB. The pumps on these machines are not expensive but it is almost certainly an Indesit, so you don’t want to spend a lot of money on it.

I might have to see if i can get a manual off the web cos i couldn’t find it last time the bloody thing broke.
Thanks for quick response though.

Think you will find its an AWD12S 😉
Tilt it back against a wall or the kitchen units and prise off the plastic kick strip. you should find the pump filter behind this. Get a few towels handy then unscrew and remove anything that you find in there, shine a torch inside to make sure the pump impellor is clear. Mains plug out at all times please.

Empty your pockets……….
Telling the kids and hubby that,
“If I find it in your pockets, it’s mine” is astonishingly effective.Regards,

I once had a customer that had this problem, in fact after the third visit to remove hairgrips from her machine and no doubt fed up with my constant hectoring, she told me that the hairgrips were in fact not hers, they came from her husbands shirt pockets, he used them to poke wax out of his ears. 😯 😆
