Hotpoint SDW80 top rotary arm please read!!! we need help

I have had this dishwasher for about 10mths, and we have recently purchased a new dinner service, the dinner plates are about 27″ which are to big to have in the bottom basket with the top basket in the lower postion so we raised the basket to the top postion. the basket has the new Click Clack Height Adjustable Basket. when the basket is raised it has two supports either side to hold the basket and the rotary arm when spinning knocks againts the supports. we have called the engineer and he totaly agrees with our problem and can see the fault and hear the knocking, but says he has never had a complaint about this before and says its a design fault. the hotpoint tecnical guys do not belive the fault can occur, and have ordered us a new basket.
Has anyone else had this problem we could really do with other people having this fault, so we can tell hotpoint.
