    Hi,

I have a Rangemaster/Leisure 110 range cooker with dual gas ovens, one of which is no longer firing it’s flame up to full temperature.

When lighting it, the “pilot light” (which actually spans across the entire gas element) ignites, but never comes on to full intensity/height. The other oven (which still works) starts off with a low flame, but after a few seconds, comes on to full power.

From my (small) understanding, this sounds like a thermocouple issue, whereby the junction isn’t responding to heat, so never lets the full flow of gas through.

I enquired a while ago with a gas engineer, and he gave me a quote of over £200, as he said the parts were difficult to obtain from Rangemaster. This seems expensive to me – granted there will be costs included to fit the new part, but would it really come to that much?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I’d like to have both overns working for Christmas!

    Cheers,
    Andy B
