ParticipantCould some kind soul quote me for a replacement door hinge for my De Dietrich oven (model FM 4445E21)-I have been quoted over £40 for the part and wondered if this was a bit steep?
Its about 5 years old and so far I have already had the other hinge replaced (last year-I guess they ‘go’ at similar intervals), both control knobs have gone brittle and broken and the heating element disintegrated
Have I been unlucky? i thought De Dietrich had a good name (certainly I have been pleased with my induction hob from them)Many thanks

Moved to Parts Enquiries, 😉
Its more than likely a Zanussi with a fancy ( overpriced ) De Dietrich badge on it.
Can you give us the full details from the rating plate, the Product or PNC number if possible. Also is it the left or right hinge looking from the front?
Jim.

That may not be a Zanussi then, not sure who made that one, Dave Conway, K Watt or S O Else may have a better idea.

Hi Yougurt,
It is a De Dietrich oven made by a company called Brandt and parts are ludicrously expensive for them, more so since the UK distribution changed last year to a new company.
We do have alternative means that may save you money, but it may mean a slight delay as some parts have to come from outside the UK sometimes.
I would advise that you replace both hinges though as, if one’s gone as sure as eggs is eggs, the other will be on it’s way out.
A mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you a price and availability.
