ParticipantHi, UKW 🙂
First of all, thanks for really helpful articles on this website – it was really interesting reading! Now, to the problem. A friend of mine (on low income, unfortunately) is after some washer-dryer. The cheapest I can find on the web is Hoover HNWL7136 from Currys (250 quid delivered after rebates).
What do you thing about this particular machine? He can’t quite stretch his budget above 300, so is there anything half-decent in this price range? I told him that Bosch WVT1260 could be a better buy but he really can’t make it. His current washer gave up the ghost (it was some very basic Creda) so he need to buy something ASAP (and until then his washes will be done in my Whirlpool :)).Many thanks,

There are very few if any decent washing machines under £300 that are any good, let alone washer/dryers.
The Hoover machine is actually a Candy. 😥
If your friend pays £250 for that he will more than likely be replacing it in a very short time span, then they will have to fork out another £250+, quite apart from the very high possibilty of unreliabilty from the machine as well. I understand the financial constraints but in the longer term it pays to invest in a much better quality machine than that one.
I don’t advocate maintenance contracts but in this case they may need one if they buy this machine and subject it to ‘normal’ use.Jim.

Indeed 🙁
I’d say more than ‘more than likely’!

Thanks for that. I just had a call with Hoover and they told me that this machine doesn’t allow to change spin speed – they said it is preprogrammed so that customers should not worry about it. 😯
No Hoover then. -
