I bet you read the title and thought “Not again!”
But no, this is different and I think you’ll like it.
I’ve fixed a problem that I was having with the above washing machine by using the very helpful advice and instruction that I found on this site. I felt I should post up a thank you and tell you what I found.I’ve had the machine from new, for many years now and only encountered a problem in the last month. I found this web site and the how to clean out the filter part. Until then, I had not cleaned it out once from new, I was unaware it even had a filter!
I removed the kick panel and found that I couldn’t unscrew the filter more than a quarter turn. I flicked it back and to for about 15 mins and it started to turn more. Eventually I got it open and cleaned it out. Here is a list of what was in it.
4 x £1.
1 x 50p coin.
2 x 5p coin.
3 x 1p coin.
1 x Disney Orlando commemorative coin.
2 x Girls metal hair slide.
1 x Toy car wheel.
1 x Half-inch screw.
1 x Three quarters of a toothpick.
1 x 8mm x 25mm piece of clear plastic.
1 x Long thin rusty black metal (could be old needle)
1 x 6 inch long piece of black pipe cleaner.
And about a teaspoon of sand.Is this a record?
It’s working fine now so I’m really pleased and I’m £4.63 better off too! What a great web site, thank you all very much.
Michael.

Well that sort of ‘blatant misuse’ 😆 helps to keep us all in business. To be honest you have been very lucky, we see hundreds of customers who have left just one or two coins in, that have punched a hole clean through the outer drum or seriously damaged the heater. In most cases rendering the machine BER ( beyond economic repair ).
Remember, if you do change this machine and you or the ‘operator’ continue to neglect to check pockets then you may not be as lucky next time, even if your machine was a matter of weeks old, it would be classed as customer misuse, not covered by the gaurantee.
That said, its an impressive list, might I suggest a piggy bank as a viable alternative. 😀
