ParticipantHi got 2 neff ovens model no: u1721nogb/02 with the same problem . The fan oven element had gone (SEMI CIRCLE) type so put new one in now it only gets up to about 100 c but there is still power going to the element but wont get any hotter. Any ideas. Thanks

Check wattage is same on new element as was on old one. Also look for bad connections, check voltage at element.

Checked voltage at element and am getting 240 volts the wattage of the new element is 1700w thrown away the old element but presume it is the same . Masterpart number for new element is bs14107 is this right? Cant understand why im getting 240 volts at element but wont get past 100 degree c.

I assume that the fan is running ok, this problem is nearly always related to fan either running slow or not at all.
BTW if memory serves the original element will have been either 2 or 2.2kW.

Thanks for your reply ,as for the fan it is going at full speed no problem there. Would the lower wattage element make that much difference and if it does why do they list the low wattage element as a replacement. Does anyone know the origional part numbers for the element.thanks.

From Neffs website = 494643
(Don’t know what the wattage is of that but the pattern equiv = 1800watts)
By the way, the only way to be sure the fan is running at full whack is to turn it off and it should take ages to slow down, if it stops fairly quickly = that’s your problem 😉

Just a quick one to add to this, if the cabinet cooling fan don’t kick in then then oven temp won’t rise over 100 as it regulates off the high temp stat mounted in the back by the main oven fan, this applies for most singles, doubles, and double built unders producued post ’96.
Hope this is of some help guys! 💡 🙂December 4, 2006 at 8:25 am #196658Bryan

Would this not result in the oven cutting off , totally dead?

This is a worrying development I must say. I haven’t fitted any Masterpart half moonies BUT I have fitted loads of Qualtex ones (ELE2052) so far with no probs 😕
But usually these PATTERN parts all come from the same source and are repackaged dependent from where you buy it I guess? I can only hope then that the Qualtex 1800 watt version is the dogs danglies?
Footnote to mowerman80 : Must you flash your rear end so much, what’s your game? 😕

They won’t go totally dead, all it does is cuts power to the element and the stat light and oven fan etc stays on as if its trying to heat then looking like a dodgy oven stat until cabinet temp falls back to a safe level.
That high temp stat also gets covered in loadsa crap from the oven fan motor and can affect supply to the element.
Next time you get chance, take a look.
I only tend to fit Gen elements on these so can’t comment on the pattern stuff but otherwise always found qualtex SUPERB for elements etc. 🙂December 4, 2006 at 7:07 pm #196663gegsy
