Saw them last week myself and could not believe the price of them, for that price I would be looking at the Fisher and Paykel Galaxy range, far better quality IMO with a two year warranty. Cost aroung £2.5k for a decent dual fuel range.

The BBC good food show.
I wandered off while the wife sat watching James Martin (whoever he is)
and found the Brittannia stand.
Looks like good kit but I won’t be buying unless there are substantial discounts to be had 😉Steve

You didn’t miss a lot Don, I go there every year on cover for Whirlpool and have to be there all week, the most boring week of the year 👿 , all the appliances that are used in the theatres and cooking demos are supplied by Whirlpool.
I only saw Hotperloni and Brittania there this year. Usualy get some other major cooking appliance manufacturers but not this time.

ParticipantI would go for a Falcon delux, Rangemaster elan or maybe even a Mercury for that sort of money, have looked at quite a few brittanias and never been impressed by them.

Was tech manager with Britannia foo 5 years until 2004. Not a bad cooker but for the same price have a look at Lacanche and Mercury.
Mercury are British built in Lincoln and are a cracking good cooker with good service back-up.
Lacanche (FdeF.co.uk) are also a great cooker, ultra reliable – we’re still fixing them at 10 to 15 years old and they are worth fixing!
Rangemaster are currently having all kinds of quality probs so stay away for now.

ParticipantWouldnt say Rangemaster are having all sorts of quality problems at the moment really, their fan motor are going down alot but that is due to a load of faulty ones being supplied by regassa the ebm replacments which would be on all cookers bought now are a great fan motor and incredibly reliable, not many breakdowns with them at all as I remember from when stoves used to fit them.
Apart from that all I am doing is panel damage on delivery stuff and a few inner glass doors (another problem that has already been adressed).
I must say though that I am very pro rangemaster as I was a technical engineer with them for over 5 years and the job was easy because everybody loved their cookers.
