Just over two years ago I bought this machine, due to working away it has been in storage ’till now. On it’s first use it comes up with AL02 – some kind of fill problem ?
My question is – is there something that could have been caused by inactivity ?
I can see why Hotpoint have earned such a reputation – this machine has still got it’s protective plastic on the door 🙁

No fill detected in the time allowed. Valve failure, kinked/trapped fill hose, water not turned on all possible. If you have the fill taps with the horrible flimsy plastic lever on the top, check that it has actually turned the water supply on. Possible that the computer is not activating the valve, though not all that likely.
Power off if you have to remove any panels.

Theres plenty of water getting to the machine, I suspect the valve or whatever reads the information from the sensor, I found that if you turn the power off completely it will continue filling, so the water is off for now.
Just had a decent offer of cover that would only cost as much as a call out.
I’m in the process of examining my conscience, difficult as it hasn’t washed a dish yet.

Very sad isn’t it, but remember, the only thing ‘Hotpoint’ about this machine is the badge on the front, you actually have an 99.99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit machine 😥
If the water continues to fill when the machine is switched off at the mains then the fill valve itself is faulty. A local independant would almost cetainly be able to repair that for less than you will pay for the cover, this will also allow you to save up for something decent next time.
