Been to several of these recently which were leaking badly from the front door area. (the base is bone dry)
When you remove the front door panel you see that the leak is coming from the far edges of the door by the door hinge pins. It pours out as the arms start up some only for a second, some seem to keep leaking.
On 2 of these it seemed to stop with just a clean of the arms & door seal but the last one I did was fine for 3 test fills but as I walked out the door it leaked again 😯 .
Has any one come across this before ? I dont whant to order the door seal and the lower door seal to find it still leaks 😡
The lower door seal looks a bit split on the ends but I have seen them alot worse with no problems. Thanks

Only 2 reasons I can think of will create this situation, 1 being the bottom spray arm not latched properly (the 4 latches on the column)?? And 2, water level control problem due to a blocked pressure chamber/sump transfer hose?

……also if the lower spray arm is restricted in rotating and build up of crusty crud remains around main door seal and along the stainless and rubber of lower door seal, this will have same effect aswell.
If what has been posted checks out then I would be looking at changing the lower door seal which AFAIR has been modified; and isn’t as bad as it looks to change 😉 P/No 298534.Greg

Have came across this before loads of times, and to be fair most of the time it’s the lower doorseal strip rather than the one up sides and top, they all leak if you stop/start them in cycle even brand new ones but its aggravated more if their tipping forward even slightly.
Its a bit of a pig but this is how i do them.
Lid, sides & front off. Detatch the control panel and wiring from the dispenser so it can be moved to one side.
Release the tension ropes off the hinges by unhooking.
Take the retaing blocks off the hinge bearings and lift off the door.
Now you can take the hinges off the door to release the seal from it.
The new one is a better design and not so bulky, i’d say if its started to split change it, they go all squidgy with grease and crud and the machine has got to be nearly 6 years old. 🙂December 4, 2006 at 8:09 pm #196960streetlighter
