    HELP?!

We have a Hoover Performa 1100 (WA110) which has decided it no longer wants to spin

Since last night it doesn’t appear to move the drum at all in any cycle and just sits there although all the other pumps seem to be merrily pumping and all the usual noises go on (it amazing how many noises I always thought were clothes moving inside the drum really weren’t!)

I’ve had the back and the top off and all looks fine to my amazingly professional eyes (i.e. there are no obvious blocks in the pipes, no obvious loose wires and the belt is on OK)

I was planning to run a multimeter across the motor to see if it was getting power but the thing seems to have loads of red wires going to it(a lot more than the 2 I was expecting) and gave up on this

Scanning the internet people seem to say that its usually the brushes – can anyone advise if this is the case or if there is anything else I should check first?

If it is likly to be the brushes how do I get to them without damaging the machine? as my missus will smack me round the head with a blunt object if I break it any further and I don’t want to have to go buy a new kettle/toaster/cat as well

Any advice would be greatfully welcomed

    Cheers Loads

    ES
