    Hi,
I have had this dishwasher for 9 years and so far it has been faultless.
Recently the circulation pump has started leaking around the shaft, which has now caused the front bearing to sieze.

When the dishwasher was last used it didn’t pump water through the spray bars which led to the element glowing red hot above where the thermostat is!

The machine will still function on the cold rinse setting – ie the machine still goes through the cycle and the drain pump works fine.

So my question is, is it worth fixing?
A new magnetic type circulation pump is needed (unless the seal and bearing are available seperately), plus a new heating element would be a good idea, plus I wonder if any other components are likely to have failed due to overheating etc.

Another thing I have noticed lately is that the water level does not cover the heating element, which then relies on the water spray to stop it overheating – is it supposed to be like that?

I am able to fit the new parts myself, and I would like to fix it if it is cost effective as up to now it has been very reliable.

Any advice and likely parts costs would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Complete motor only I’m afraid, the part number is 31X0131 at £130.02 inc VAT

It should be OK to be honest as it’s protected by an overheat thermostat but it’s around £30 as a guide.
