Just had a lady on the phone. She has a Bosch washer WFX3267GB/10 just over 2 years old and a tumble dryer WTA2000GB/01 around 5 years old. She says she has just started to get small ‘greyish’ marks or streaks on her clothes, but does not know if it is the washer or the dryer. Washer door seal is apparently perfect.
I have asked her to try and isolate exactly which machine is causing this before I go by drying some clothes without using the dryer.
Could be the dreaded ‘gunge’ coming from the dispenser to door boot pipe? You may have to whip the drum out of the dryer to check the front bearer and seal?
Why not? It may have got through over 700 loads if it’s been used just once a day in that period? Probably been using all the wrong detergent and bunging it all in together on a quick wash too?
Take along a little thin bottle brush and a copy of The Laundry Guide! 😀
Had a BEKO last week, only 10 months old, causing marks on clothes. This was due to sludge build up in outer tub and under door seal inner lip. The customer uses the machine 4 times a week. And uses Ariel liquid. As normal advised maintenance washes, blah, blah, blah. So yes the gunge could build up in such a young machine as your customers.
