ParticipantHi,
I have a Bosch ‘KGU3216468/01’ (refrigerant R600) which has been a trouble-free unit for two years and more, but this morning it seems that the freezer door was left open overnight so we binned some food and closed the door.
There was noise coming from the back that sounds like a fan, which definitely wasn’t so prominent before but never the less the unit eventually reached its usual freezer temp of -18.
My wife did some shopping and filled it up with food (Christmas stuff of course). Now the freezer temp will not go below -6, even with the ‘super’ setting turned on and the fan still sounds a bit laboured. Adjusting the level or moving the unit doesn’t cure the sound.
The fridge seems OK though.
I wonder whether anyone has any ideas, or if not who I should contact in South Wales to fix this fault.
Thanks in advance
Adrian

Hi
What I would do is turn appliance off for 24 hours to allow the excess ice that has now built up in the evaporater area to melt.I imagine its that thats hitting the freezer fan causing the strange sound.Greg

Greg,
That piece of advice, which was probably second-nature to you, was worth diamonds to me at this time of year with a freezer full of food. I let it thaw out overnight and this morning, it’s working fine.
I can’t thank you enough.
Have a great Christmas.

Hi
Im sure 24 hours is sufficient for a defrost on this domestic appliance.
Also, If you are an engineer in the trade, then you will need to gain access from site admin 😉Greg

I agree with Greg on this one. 24 hours with door open and power off should be more than enough
