Hi Can anyone please help. We have a cda 494 dishwasher that starts ok and seems to fill then starts to continuously beep after approx 1 minute of working. The beeping stops once the door is opened and the start light flashes 4 times then pauses then flashes 4 times again and so on. We have tried draining it and cleaning the filter but it does the same.

Any ideas? We don’t know how old it is as it came with the house we bought.

    Many thanks

It’s a Whirlpool in disguise that one, not too old though.

From the information I have it seems that there’s a problem with the draining circuit or the machine sensing that it has drained. Also possibly the water inlet circuit. 😕

Like most of these codes, it’s a start but that’s about it.

    Hi

Thanks for that. Is there any use in looking at the black filter that can be found on the right hand side under the main filter (if that makes any sense to you?)

When you say circuit, do you mean an electronic circuit – therefore needing an engineer? or circuit as in how that particular assembly is made up?

    Many thanks

That’s the water level sensor and has a bad habit of sludging up, giving false readings. It may be the cause of your problem, especially if the machine is actually empty. It’s a twist fit from underneath. Power off first though………

No, when we talk about the circuit in that manner it can mean the parts are physically stopped from working or there could be an electrical fault, either can throw up the same fault codes for most machines.
