I am looking to buy a free standing cooker, either an AEG D98000VF or an Electrolux EKT6045X
My only problem is with their grill handles. I simply cannot get the things to engage or disengage without lifting the pan and turning it over, not a good idea when the pan is hot and full, arthritis does not assist.
I notice that the built in ovens have pans and handles of a slightly different design, eg the AEG B9879-4-m
My question is: Can I use a grill pan from another model? If so which and where do I get one?
I’ve tried customer services by e-mail but am not getting any sense out of them. I’ve communicated with several people but none can quite manage to answer my question rather than the question that they have a stock answer for.
I would also like to know if any of the telescopic shelf runners that are available on other models would fit either of the ones I favour. There also seems to be a combination shelf that would be useful.
    Any pointers gratefully received.

    Re: Grill pans and handles

    Hi Judith,

The grill pans will likely be unique to fit onto the runners I should think. You likely can use an alternative grill pan but it would mean that it would perhaps not quite fit and it may well have to be placed onto a wire shelf.

When we get info on these things we generally get a part number with no sizing information at all other than the universal replacements.

As for the telescopic runners etc., I’m sorry but there’s virtually no chance as these are fixed to the liner for stability and cannot be retro-fitted.

Probably not what you wanted to hear but I hope it helps anyway.

    K.

Thanks. I have resigned myself to operating the grill with oven gloves rather than the handle.
