Hi Please help, I have a creda cooker which is about 5 years old, the fan element blew last week so I ordered a replacment ensuring it was the correct one. I fitted the element turned the oven on and all seemed fine. I then later turned the oven on to do some cooking and after about 25 min it tripped the mains circuit. Now whenever i switch the cooker isolating switch on the fan runs and the oven light comes on. When i ten turn the oven temp on the element turns on but seems to be on full power no matter what tenp I want it on(burning lots of food at the mo) Any help would be greatly recieved.

    Thanks

Earth fault on new element possible, it can then by-pass the thermostat and run full on all the time.

Two elements available for this one:
    1200w, 165mm diameter – 6203335
    1800w, 200mm diameter – 6203338

Other possiblilty is the thermostat has failed – contacts welded shut is a likely cause.

    Main oven thermostat – 6222155

Or both……. Either way, you’re going to have to go circuit testing to figure it out. Power off, of course.

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering on any of the above.
