    Hi all, happy new year to everyone here. Some advice on my Neff U1661 oven please.

    The top oven now does not work. The internal light comes on, but there is no heat from the element(s). There is no panel illumination when you swith the “selector” switch (oven, grill, 1/2 grill etc…). Neither the temperature nor the selector sections of the panel illuminate. I’m presuming this is likely to be a switch failure? I recall looking in there a while ago and it seemed quite complex inside there. Is it something that I can diagnose on line here and fix?

    The lower oven is not effected, I recently fitted a new fan oven element to it.

    Looks like a complete control unit – £150 plus VAT!

    My thoughts exactly. I wasn’t sure which unit it was in the parts book at Neff’s website. I’m going to clean up the unit contacts and lubricate it, if that doesn’t work I’ll regard the £150 to £180+ (depending on which unit was the correct one at Neff) thus saved as a down payment on a new one. Thanks.

    I’ve managed to repair my Neff this morning (a loose wire on the upper oven control unit!). Having looked again at the Neff this morning, I don’t suppose the actual build quality is “too” bad. Many thanks, I enjoyed my Cheese on Toast that was my test piece!
