Hello, hope you can help. I have searched through posts but can not really find an answer.

Machine fills ok and runs through cycle to end. Problem seems to be the flow rate of the wash water. It resembles a babbling water feature rather than a gushing torrent. The top arm does not even fill with water and the lower arm barely turns.

I have checked all channels and they not blocked. The wash pump rotates very fast with no sluggishness on start. The pump impeller feels to be connected to the motor, ie turn one end and the other turns.

My only conclusion is that the impeller has lost its blades. Is this likely?

Could there be any other causes, a partly stuck valve somewhere underneath?

Finally how do you source and then change the impeller if it is the issue. It looks to be a real pain to dismantle and rectify.

    Many thanks, Stuart

It is a distinct possiblity, on this Bosch produced machine. A very difficult machine to access, the circulation pump assembly on its own is almost £70.00 + vat. The motor complete is over £176.00 + Vat 😯 . Best advice would be see if we have someone in your area who can take a look for you rather than ordering expensive parts beforehand. Are you certain it is the circulation pump you are checking and not the drain pump?

    Thanks for the reply.

I’m certain its the circulation and not the drain pump. It fills and drains ok. Filling up to the right level and draining almost empty.

I have taken the RH panel off and can see the circ pump which spins up fast enough for me not to be able to see the fan. The impeller appears to be solidly connected to the motor but its impossible to see if it has any blades left.

Do you have an estimate of the time to dismantle / assemble in order to replace the impeller.

Is there any possibility of a blocked water way or valve that i havn’t looked at?

    Regards, Stuart

No valves as such that I am aware of, the water flow does go through the heater box. Blockages caused by gunge build up usually cause a gradual loss of circulation pressure. The impellor blades do not break up in my experience, however the impellor does occasionally become loose on the shaft, difficult to confirm without removing the motor. This involves taking various bits off the back, then lying the machine on its back with a large block of wood or brick at least 3 inches thick supporting it just under the front. The base hinges forwards once you have removed several screws, clips, wiring plugs etc.etc. Difficult to estimate time involved, it is just an awkward machine to work on full stop.

Plug out if you decide to procede.

Jim, thanks for the info. I may need it as a last resort!!

I will check the heater box. My wife used a cleaner on Saturday and it may have freed up some crud and blocked it up.

Is the heater box accessible from the left?

    Regards, Stuart

Unfortunately there is very little you can access properly on this machine without dropping the base. If the machine was working before the cleaning then there is always a chance that something is blocked if it failed to work correctly straight afterwards.
