Hello all, this is a great site.

F&P model IW711 shows fault code 37, a result of starting but not completing the 1st rinse cycle. I noted the water level was almost to the top of the bowl on wash cycle. After reading through much of the forums info I did the following:
    1. checked all hoses for blockage
    2. checked the pump for blockage checked pump motor for freeness
    3. replaced diverter valve
    4. checked operation of pressure module
    5. checked the operation of the oob switch – ok
The pressure switch seemed to require more pressure to stop machine filling than I imagined it would – I forced the machine into fault code 12, I guess that’s because I couldn’t keep blowing!

Finally when I selected the spin option the machine would not fully pump out. The pump operated intermittently and after 2 or 3 min the time to go would recycle until the wm went into fault status.

    Help please.

    Happy New Year

Defo pump related. Overheating and cutting out is the usual one. The pulsing you describe in your post would go along with this.

Penguin 45, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Closer inspection of the pump (after removal) showed the windings to be discoloured.

Initially I was a little mystified as to how the pump temp. was monitored but then noticed an in-line device tucked under the power input terminals.

I powered up the motor in a vice, after carefully isolating each terminal from the other, and applied a light load to the impeller and sure enough after 15 – 20 sec the pump stopped. I’ve ordered the part reasonably confident we’ve found the fault.

Keep up the great work. (I’m listening to the Sydney test …. not sounding good for your blokes).
