I decided to check the carbon brushes on my Dyson CR01 washing machine last night while removing it to install my new dishwasher. I gave up after 10 mins. Only two star screws holding it on, the 3rd bracket just slides over the plastic mount as with Hotpoint. The motor just wouldn’t budge a millimeter and all my attempts to lever it off just damaged the plastic mounts.

If I had to get the motor off I’d have persevered a bit more but it was just a service-type check. Anyone else had problems?

Had a word with a friend of mine that works for Dyson. Special pullig tool about 3 foot long!
That would explain it, hope that helps.

Cheers. That certainly does explain it, and its much better than the other implied explanation that I am past it. 🙂

If I’d known you need a special tool just to get the motor off I wouldn’t have praised it so highly in my review.
