😳 Please can you tell me if it is possible to do anything with the bottom of my oven. The enamel has worn away this could have been because of 2 factors a) using fairy power spray on it or b) leaving a dish on the bottom when the oven was off but cooling down. On christmas day I noticed a couple of small dots a week later the enamel seems to have nearly all gone..

A few nights ago I cooked in it and a small amount of fat dropped on the bottom of the oven after that the cooker emitted the most horrendous fumes… this is what I am most concerned about as I think these fumes could be deadly.

I have an engineer coming out on Tuesday to tell me what I have done wrong. I need someone to tell me this problem can be solved. Feeling very depressed about it as I have only used the oven several times.
    Please help alycat 🙁

    Hi Alycat,

The Fairy didn’t cause it, but the dish almost certainly did although there is the slim possibility that there was a flaw in the enamel to start it off.

The fumes aren’t deadly but they are unpleasant and can make the eyes water.

Sadly you can’t replace the enamel and normally the inner cavity cannot be replaced either. 🙁

No there were stoves build ovens with the adp prefix as well as others.
