ParticipantMy Hotpoint Mistral plus showed High Temp. Daughter had not shut door fully when she raided the fridge for milk following a night out. 😡
I thought it was just a case of shutting door and temp would be OK….WRONG (silly mummy). Long story short the condenser fan has died. Called repairer out. There is no model number on this so he can’t tell me which one it needs. He did tell me how to limp it along until I got a new one.
He also offered to take it away when I got the new one. As he charged me the calloutfee and could not do anything he would save me the fee to get rid of the old one. Such a nice chap.. 😯 ..ERRRR don’t think so.
Question how easy would it be to get a fan /motor for this. My garage f/f is old and battered thought I could put this one out there.
If I left the front grill off and took the back panel off would it need the fan being in the garage?
Female in need of some assistance. Money has run out following house renovations. Washiing machine dying as well….Please someone take me away form all this….
Or perhaps there is an easy fix for both things.
RThanks for any assistance or just a smile would help

Have you pulled out the crisper bins and had a look round there for the numbers? Unfortunately the “Mistral” range is quite extensive over the years.

He just took the back panel off. The fan was not working. Fridge has been searched high and low but no model number. So he said he was unable to help. Charged call out fee and left. 🙁
Tried contacting hotpoint and they were unable to help. They did say that their engineer could come out £80 + VAt and would be able to work out which model maybe.
Bought new f/f. But as I said thought it might be OK for garage.
Where would the fuse be situated?

Ok having solved the washing machine problem with assistance from people on this site It’s back to F/F
Have removed the fuse and had that checked all is OK with that.
Now to get the motor out. I have removed the srews from the triangle shaped holder. No problem. But am having trouble working out how to remove motor.
I don’t have the model for this fridge freezer.
A really nice man at spares place (he helped me with brshes for washing machine tin of biscuits on way to him next week) will do his best to help with motor but I’ve got to get it there.
Guys in work will run a couple of tests to see if that is the problem. But again I’ve got to get it there.
Can supply photos of fixings etc to anyone who might be able to help but does not know machine. Just drop me an email and I’ll send them off
Thanks for bearing with me on this.
