When I turned on my washing machine water began pouring out through the closed drawer and only a very small amount of water entered the drum. Does this mean there is a blockage between the drawer and the drum and is there any way I can fix this? Hope someone can help.

Connecting hose between soap box and drum will be blocked. If you slip the front edge of the door gasket you can reach the hose at the top left. Massaging it will sometimes break up the congealed soap powder, sometimes you’ve got to remove it.
This is usually caused by consistent over-soaping, or/and cheap nasty own brand powders.
Power off if attempting to repair this yourself.
