    Our machine started making a grinding noise and the water wasn’t draining out. I think the noise is coming from the drain motor. I took it out tonight and found a couple of obstructions in the hose between it and the drum. Put it together again but the noise is still there (wasn’t at first) and the machine stopped half full of suds and water. I’m beginning to think i need a new pump but it seemed to run ok out of the machine. Anything i can try ??

    Almost certainly the pump motor past it’s best. This is what you want:

    Thanks for the info, fitted the new pump and the noise is gone. However another fault ha shown up and i’m not sure if i’ve caused it. The machine seems to get stuck mid cycle, i.e it stops with the drum full of water or continually slow spins. I think the program selector section is sticking. I’m wondering if some water got in when i had the machine in bits. Any suggestions ? Is this bit expensive to replace ?
