About six years old, has just been replumbed into new utility room. Was found to be boiling away, soap drawer front badly distorted. Customer pulled machine out and found cold fill hose kinked.
I would think that a kinked cold fill hose could not cause this fault but I stand to be corrected by the Zanussi experts.
Thermistor and all wiring seems OK, she said it would not spin when she tried it after the boiling incident but when I set it to spin it worked perfectly and the timer advanced to OFF. 😕
Any suggestions, 🙂

Tech info points towards the board, I am changing one tomorrow for a ‘no spin’ fault, might use it as a test on this one before I invest any dosh, 😀

Thanks Alan, belt & braces approach may be wise with this one.

Looks like Alan has a little trouble with his belt and braces right now? 🙂

As I could find no obvious fault at the time and the timer did advance on spin I advised the customer to try the machine again, without clothes and whilst she was in the house.
I have just phoned her and she says it worked perfectly on a 40° wash. She is now going to experiment with some clothes that are surplus to requirements. 😆

Hi Guys
A Serviceforce engineer once told me that on certain variations of these machines if the drain is restricted or filter is blocked, they will boil up.
Apparently they are heating until they drain and when the pressure switch drops out it cuts the heater. 😕
I questioned this as the machine has a plastic tank and what happens if the pressure system blocks etc but he reassured me that the heater has a TOC in it.
But the the bloke could be talking b@ll@cks?!
Although this scenario could be possible with this sort of fault as you said it didn’t spin 💡
HTH 😉

Just to update this thread. Customer reports that the machine has performed perfectly for past 19 days, on a full range of temperatures.
