I’m confused as to which part is at fault here. 😕
Door shuts but not tight shut. Ordinarily, it would mean straight hinge swap. But this oven is fitted with ‘L’ shaped hinges that pivot on the door frame (a small pin in an elongated slot) and pull out of the oven frame as the door is opened. (Hinges shown as Connect part no. 5031685826840) This pulls on the door springs each side. The ‘L’ shaped hinge runs through a ‘carrier’ consisting of 2 plastic bushes either side of a coil spring. There is no form of adjustment on any of the parts.
Now, I’ve moved the positions of the carrier bushes (took them off and swapped them over each side) to see if they were worn and therefore possibly compensate for the door hinge wear. Much better, but still slightly loose one side (1/8″).
Next I took the door off and removed the hinges themselves. The little pivot pins are very loose in their positions, and seem free to move side to side in the door frame: the hinges seem ridiculously loose on the pins. :hmm:
Anyone had any experience with this type of hinge and it’s faults? Any help appreciated!!Thanks!!!
Steve.

I had a problem like this a couple of years back. From what I remember, there should be no play in the pivot pins. Even a small amout of play will make a difference. In any case the hinges came as a kit complete with all the pins etc. Don’t know if they’ve changed it so you have to buy them separately. Hope this is of help.

Come across one of these today with exact fault Door loose and not closing at top . Was interested to know if fitting the hinge kit (5031685826840) did the trick or would just fitting the ‘L’ shaped hinge bars (5031683784036) solve the problem?

The problem is the pins pulling out of one side of the housing in the door. The L shape bits will not cure the fault, you wont even need them. Lock the door open by placng 2 allen keys in the holes on the L shape backets and dismantle the door by removing the inner glass (slides out) and the screws for the handle. This will allow the outer glass and bracket to slide up and off the hinge brackets. You can now see the inside of the hinge brackets. The pins can be re fitted without too much problem and a thin metal shim each side can be added to keep them in place, at least until you get new parts or forever even!

Thanks for the info. Will try your suggestion first as Connect has no stock at present.
