Evening all!!!!
I was just wondering if I am just unlucky with my orders placed with connect or is anyone else also having same trouble…..orders placed before 3pm supposed to be next day delivery!!! but an honest estimate is that 1 in 5 of my orders dont make it to me next day……when I ask rep get usual excuses like automatic picking equipment problems and that it is really rather rare!! but seems like I get more than my fair share of late orders….LOL….anyone else noticed this phenomenon!!! also do they have an endless supply of cardboard at Connect as my orders come complete with a wheelie bin worth of shredded cardboard box!!!!!

Orders placed after 2 pm can often fall foul of the next day deadline but often I find when I track the order it’s been shipped out and it’s the carrier that’s the problem not CDSL! 😉

I tracked an order I placed yesterday 09/01/07 at around 2.25pm and it didnt ship till this morning according to the website….thing is if order needs to be in by 2pm to guarantee next day delivery then why have 3pm deadline? guess I will aim for 2pm in future but its not always possible as you all know…calls depending…..

used to have same fault with connect but found out that 9 times out of 10

Had a nightmare with them too.
Ordered a £80 element for a customer on a Thursday morning and expected next day delivery told the customer I would be able to fit it Friday PM which clinched the repair as they were umming and ahhing about spending so much money on thier dryer, anyhow it didn’t arrive, I phoned Conect and they said it would be sent, Managed to talk the customer into waiting till Monday. again didn’t arrive. phoned and it was DHL’s fault this time it was at their delivery center waiting for a loading bay time ????
Managed to talk the customer into Tuesday, then DHL delivered it to the wrong address, I phoned to find out where it was and all the driver could say was “i delivered it to the house on the left” Someone was here all day to take the parcel and the signature was not from anyone who lives around here.
Phoned connect and they promised to send out another on the same day. managed to talk customer round again and once again it didn’t arrive. by now the customer had had enough and canceled the job and vowed never to use me again.
Online it said the element was sent, so as the customer had canceled I resigned myself to the fact i’d refuse delivery.
another week passed before it was actually sent out by connect 15 days after the ordginal order was placed, and it arrived via recorded delivery on the following Monday. The postman refused to take it back so i had to accept it, I emailed connect to find out what they were playing at as I really didn’t want to waste any more time and money phoning them up, and got no response.
Then they invoiced my for both bloody elements, I refused to pay and asked them to collect the one that was here as it was unwanted and 2 and a half weeks late.
Well they still haven’t collected it and that was September, it’s still sitting in the box it was sent in, by the door. and the item is still on my statment. Managed to get the lost one taken off the account after they had a debt collection company chase me for the money. they keep promising to collect it, but never do.
Found Homespares are by far more reliable, and loads cheaper, also the delivery is relative to what your buying.

I was told by one DHL delivery guy that orders from Connect and Partscenter are now sent using DHL home delivery service, which does not guarantee next day delivery, as does DHL business, and may be up to 4 days! Having said that I have not had any problem other than the DHL home delivery arrives later in the day, but so far it has been next day. I will no longer give time scale to customers, if I need to get parts, just in case!!
Strange thing is, both guys in separate vans, from the same depot, deliver parcels to different addresses in the same street on the same day. I always thought the Germans were highly efficient. Just goes to show.Re: Connect next day delivery? Am I just unlucky?

LOL my rep does admit to being aware of the website, so im sure they do read them, wouldnt you…….also I have noticed a marked improvement in my deliveries!!!!!!but put that dowm to the end of the festivities…..maybe you are right…….

Most of our spares come from CDSL, and while they offer next day, i have had a couple of deliveries late. It turned out to be DHL 😕 . After having half of a delivery arriving one day and the other half arriving the next, I questioned the driver, his response was……….. I dunno mate, the boys in the depot sometimes leave stuff there if there aint enough space on the loading bay. If you need the stuff urgently, phone the depot and you could probably go and pick it up……. see you tomorrow……. :rolls: !
Hmmmmm! CDSL do honour their promises, if the order is placed by 3PM, it goes…….its the couriers we may need to look at, after this particular event happened, i contacted CDSL logistics/accounts dept and arranged for deliveries to arrive via UPS and guess what…… Never any probs 😀 . (untill they changed it back to DHL… back to damaged boxes and late deliveries 🙁 )!

We’ve had no end of trouble for the past month with deliveries. We used to be able to order up until 4pm for next day delivery then they changed it with out informing us and said we were lying about being able to order up until this time, we eventually proved it that we did.
Then we started ordering before 3pm and the deliveries still weren’t coming next day, so now we have to order before 2pm just to make sure we get the order.
Also when we have sent any orders on a saturday, recently they have been sending them by post with out informing us so we dont get the package till the end of next week but still charge us for carriage.The rep turns up once in a blue moon, when he does, nothing gets resolved. This week we have now taken all of their items out of our shop and have gone with a another company because we’ve had enough, Connect just don’t seem to be bothered anymore.

Just had my first experience of DHL home delivery courier service, Not a good one! Right house number wrong road and then left with a neighbor in the wrong road 😡 .

If you place an order below the threshold and have to pay carriage you are automatically charged £5.50 carriage. Yet if your order is below a certain weight (5kg, I was told by an operative today) it gets sent by royal snail. This is chargable at £3.25 but if you don’t ring and have a moan you’ll just pay £5.50 and not be any the wiser. And when you try to use the old 0121 number you just get a message telling you to call 0870….
On the plus side I have found the operatives polite and sympathetic – the fault is with the company policy.

Yep I was told this last week as well. So much for fast tracking parts to customers who need them urgently. My last smaller delivery took 10 days. 2 lost jobs through it and parts I now need to return. Not good enough in my books.

been using connect for almost 12 months now always seems really quick to arrive never anything late although odd item seems to stay on backorder forever and a day even though we may re-order the same part next time and have it arrive but generally good dealing with them
