    just visted this appliance

    Main oven element took out 30amp mcb..element shot it

    no probs I thinks! but

    fan starts up upon intitial switch on of control thermostat..after a couple of minutes it stops dead

    temp light remains on..but no rotation. what ever you do with control knob..fan will not start

    so before I remove monster from housing

    any ideas why fan STOPS

    Two theories spring to mind here:

    1) The fan motor is knackered (thats why the element overheated and blew?)

    2) When the element blew it fused the t/stat contacts or the selector switch contacts?

    does the motor still hum as if there is still power getting to it!

    guys used all sorts to lift units out..but must say workmate is fine
    although if you aint got it in the van,, a plastic garden table ( strong one) or those nice ornatemetal ones. or like last friday a strong linnen basket upside down

    returning to the story

    fan runs upon turning regulator on..no undue noises from fan present

    so you suspect just the element..until after a few mins..fan stops

    I am beginning think that by taking out the 30amp mcb, stat may have shot it

    although heat call light stays on when fan stops!! so thats puzzling

    so i am armed with fan and element and if some kind person can give me stat part number it would be appreciated and we cant fail (says he)
