Hoover integrated Fridge-freezer HBOA 315/1VZK

Hi Guys ,
Need to fit new stat in this fridge . It is one of the vented fridges , ( With fan to bring cold to chill fom freezer).
What way does the probe attach to back of the cabinate ? Do I need to pull the wlole unit out to fit the probe from the back , I fitted a VT9 which will not go down the tube where the old stat came out ? otherwise its working fine .
