ParticipantI have a Creda T622CW which has just developed the “no heat” problem again. Last time it was the thermostats that were the problem. This time however I have checked the thermostats visually (the foil is flat- not concave) and have checked them for continuity- they are passing current when disconnected. I have checked the door thermostat too and there’s no problem here either. While checking things out, I accidentally snapped a heater coil (lesson to all!!)and so the heater unit has also been replaced. After scouring this excellent forum I’m now thinking that this may be a timer fault. Any comments on this diagnosis/further suggestions/tips on testing the timer unit?

Timers are fairly reliable but I did have to change one on a Hotpoint (same machine) only last week for this problem. Before I fitted it I checked the circuits through the timer, something you may not be able to do easily.
Timer is part No: 1702509. You can order one from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk It is around £35.00 plus vat and postage and will almost certainly include a different timer that will come with information on the wiring changes needed.
Be sure to remove the mains plug before working on the dryer.

Thanks Jim. Had the timer out but I’m not quite sure what terminals/wire colours relate to the element circuits. Are you able to advise?

Unfortunately safety concerns prevent me from being more precise, please read this. http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … pic&t=4386
It is really up to you to decide if you want to risk changing the timer or getting ‘a man who knows’ to have a look. 😉
