    Hi there,
    I have a ariston margherita 2000 washer/dryer which has developed a fault.
    Whenever you switch it on it will try to put water in and you can hear it enter the draw but then the dial does the usual trick and starts to turn continuously befor giving the 8 flash code. also the pump beguins to operate to empty the machine again.
    I have cleaned the filter and tried the reset procedure but still the same.

    Can anyone please help me and tell me what the 8 flashes mean or suggest a way I can repair please.

    There are numerous references to the 8 flash error code on Indesit and Ariston washers throughout this forum.

    Quick recap:
    Technically, it means that the heater relay on the computer board is not reponding. It can also be the heater, temperature circuit, dodgy wiring or any combination of these.

    Power off if you choose to investigate.

    Thanks for the quick reply Penguin45. that is of great help.
    I will try to pull the system apart to check out the relay. and the continuety of the wiring also.
    will let you know how I get on
