The daft plumber who originally did the pipework on my flat has fitted the cold water supply connector pointing towards the adjacent wall, and it’s so close that the inlet hose has to be virtually bent at a right angle to fit. This causes a kink in the hose that naturally isn’t very desireable.

The inlet hose that came with the Bosch machine has one end at a right angle, however according to the instructions, that end is to be connected to the machine. I would of hazarded a guess at swapping it the other way round and connecting the right angle end on to the water supply but there’s a filter on the hose which is designed for the water to flow in a certain direction and wonder if using it the wrong way around would cause any problems?

I can easily obtain another hose that doesn’t have any filters on it which I assume is safe to put with the right angle end on the supply and the straight end on the machine, or would the lack of filters cause problems for the machine?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Water Inlet Hose Question?

The only correct solution is to alter the inlet tap. The angled end is designed to fit on the back of the washer without kinking, unless you make sure that your machine is not pushed back against the wall the straight connection will eventually kink at that end, it can also put unnecessary strain on the fill valve it is screwed onto. Even if you leave your machine 5 or 6 inches away from the rear wall the hose is likely to kink over time.

    Re: Water Inlet Hose Question?

The back of the machine will be about 12 inches away from the wall.

Is there such thing as a water inlet hose with right angle connectors both end?

You may get away with it if it is that far from the wall. I have not seen any hoses like that, that is not to say that there aren’t any. You could also use a coupling to join two hoses together.
