ParticipantPlease forgive me but this is the first time I have used one of these forums…
I have a schreiber fridge freezer installed in my kitchen. The fridge has a problem. The freezer works but the fridge has gone warm. a letter H has come up on the display. If I press and hold the button the fridge shuts down (no light) if you do the same again the light comes on but H shows all the time. Its definatley warmed up too!
Any idea, suggestions would be greatly appriciated.
Cheers

You are quite welcome to this site and feel free to ask.
Is it frost free fridge freezer?
Do you have proper ventilation for the fridge freezer? and how old is the fridge?
By the way never heard of this company before, was it installed by the kitchen company?
Regards

The company it was installed by has since gone into liqidation. It was installed approx 20 months ago.
The comapny the fitter bought it from is called Howdens Kitchens. I contacted them to see if it was under any kind of warranty but they were reluctant to give me any information as I didnt actually buy from them. They were asking for account numbers e,t,c (difficult to get hold of as I was just the customer)I looked at the fridge freezer again and the letter H is still showing on the display – the fridge s definatley not working – the freezer is still ok.
I assume its properly ventilated as its integrated into the unit and there is about an 8 inch gap at the back.

In that case it is better to switch the fridge freezer off for 24 hours and then switch it back on.There are good chances that it will be OK.
Reason why is that frost free systems have cooling system in the freezer that send cool air up in the fridge. If some reason like you leave the door open etc, the freezer will develop the ice which will block the airway or stop the fan from working, fridge will not cool for sure.
Do that and see how it goes.

Its happening again…Same fridge freezer..similar problem…
The fridge has packed up again…its warm and the light is off (even when the door is open) I have noticed there is a small magnet that seems to switch it on and off when the dor is opend and closed…
I have taken the Magnet off and rubbed it all around the door but nothing happens!!!
Am pulling my hair out!
