I have a DWF50 that gave the drain time out fault. I removed the drain pump cleaned the crud out of it and put it back together. The pump now drains fine.

Sadly the flange joint between the drain pump and the filter housing now leaks like a sieve. I’d take an oath that there wasn’t an O ring or anything similar in there before but I can’t see how it would seal without one. Surely it can’t just be packed full of silicone grease ? The pump is located by 3 lugs and a locking screw – insert the lugs twist and secure with the screw (just in case you are familar with this design on other hotpoints)

Can someone give me a pointer here as to whether there is supposed to be an O ring or not ?

    Many thanks,
    Stuart

There is an O ring on this Indesit 😥 dishwasher drain pump. ‘Other’ earlier Hotpoints are far better constructed.

Part number if you need it is, C00054917, an e-mail to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one.

Many thanks – just to clarify that’s the one between the pump body and filter housing at about 25mm O/D rather than the one that seals the join nearest the impeller which is about 55mm O/D ?

I was wondering why it looked like it had been built with ‘ecomony’ in mind. Previous Hotpoint products (shades of mid 70’s purple anyone ??) I’ve taken apart have been very solid.

    Once again thanks

Yep, small O ring approx size of a £2 coin.
You might have left it in the patient, 😉
