Indesit has cut short its conference and incentive client event in Italy this week because of the volcanic ash disrupting flights throughout Europe.
The company took 85 distributors, and representatives from independent and major chain retailers to Milan this week, with the majority arriving on 14 April.
The two-night programme included a conference, trip to the Eurocucina 2010 trade show and dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Most delegates were due to begin an incentive programme this morning that included a choice of activities including mountain-biking, a boat cruise and a trip to Stresa.
However, major European flight disruptions meant delegates instead left Villa e Palazzo Aminta in Lago Maggiore at 4.45am today to travel back to the UK by coach and train.
Indesit and agency BSI yesterday arranged for a group of VIP delegates to fly to Paris and take the Eurostar to London, while Indesit’s managing director, HR director and commercial director were driven to Lille to connect with the Eurostar.
