    Hi All:

Parkinson Cowan Combined Gas Hob and Double Oven
Model: Ovation 60 GLXa (Br); Serial Number 0140044

Sometimes it proves impossible to light any of the gas rings on this unit, for lack of gas supply to them. The problem can be resolved by lightning the gas oven, and waiting a few minutes, whereupon the rings can be lit normally.

Lately, the problem has become more complex: it’s now necessary to light the oven, wait a few minutes, turn the oven off, and only then can the rings be lit.

Would welcome any ideas about the likely cause.

    Regards,

    John Harrison

    Hi

You need a CORGI registered engineer, they are the only ones allowed to service gas appliances.

I know that I need a Corgi engineer to sort the problem out.

What I was hoping for was some clue as to the likely cause / size of the repair bill, before calling out an engineer, in order to decide whether to have the unit repaired or to replace it.
