ParticipantMachine is about eight years old now. Model number is LW085K.
Lights up when I push the Power button, as usual. As I select the water level and temperature from the row on the bottom, the Wash Progress Normal light in the upper row is flashing, just the way it always has. That’s where normal ends 🙂
The Wash Progress light changes from flashing to steady green, but this used to be accompanied by the sound of the machine filling. It isn’t. I can’t hear anything at all.
So far, I have checked that the filters on the hoses are clean, and they were. I can’t find a lid switch on this model, but I have had the lid off and had a good look under it without seeing anything. I have also had the control panel off in the hope there would be a bit of paper with service info, but there wasn’t. There were no loose connections though, and nothing looked amiss.
The machine is that old I haven’t got the sort of error codes I see here.
This did happen a couple of months ago, and I unplugged the machine overnight with a view to having a look in the morning. In the morning it went fine :rolls:I have unplugged it again, and will hope for the best, but I wondered if anyone here had any insight?

If you can’t get anything from the diagnostics procedures in the “Sticky” at the top of the forum, you’re going to have to do it buy a process of elimination. Will it pump and spin? Can you get it to do a rinse (cold water only, see)?
Assuming that it will pump and spin, you can eliminate the lid switch. If it’ll rinse, the cold valve works and you may be looking at a hot valve failure.
Using a test meter to check the valves is pretty straight forward as well – you should get 15 ohms through each coil.

Thanks for that. I tried the diagnostics, but no lights in the wash lamp row lit up.
We only have cold water in the laundry. I am not sure how to test it to rinse or spin, when it will only come on, light up, and nothing else. Is there a way I can do this?Edited to add:
After being off all night the machine did go. However, as soon as the cycle was done, and it was on the last spin, it immediately returned to the start of the cycle and began to fill to wash. The lights on the wash cycle also went from a red spin light, and then straight back to all the lights being lit.
I advanced it through the lights back to the spin cycle, and it didn’t seem to me that it had any intention of stopping. It was still on spin long after any water was coming out the drain hose. I powered it off, and the last three lights on the left flashed, and kept flashing until I shut the power off at the wall.January 22, 2007 at 9:38 pm #201614Penguin45

Recycle may be on if it’s restarting. Try:
Enter diagnostics as per sticky, then Water Level Up button. Use it to ensure that the Medium Water Level LED is off.At the same time, check that Restart is On.
Enter diagnostics, use Water Level Down button to ensure that Low Water LED is on.HTH,
